| Simulation of slip movement between two teeth under influence of a third medium (e.g. slurry, food)
Principle of Operation Different test materials are mounted into a multi-chambered sample wheel. A textured and hardened counter-wheel runs in contact with the primary sample wheel, and abrasion is effected both by the counter-wheels smaller size and the difference in speed between the two wheels. Using unaffected surfaces as references, the abrasion volumes can be exactly determined and compared. The simulator offers an offset control, allowing the operator to limit the offset distance. This offset control further allows the use of a cylindrical grinder to render the sample wheel properly round. |
